There are no black and white
no colors
or lines between
love
and make believe
there is no reason
or recognition
behind stagnant
emotions
no anesthetic strong enough
to numb the pain
or smoother the
life flickering slightly
behind a blanket of fear
there is no cure
for the suffocating silence
the asphyxiating disease
paralyzing
and binding
no such thing as freedom
walled in on
all
four
sides
and s c r e a m i n g
because no one
can hear you
no sanctuary
from the violent
confines of the mind
hopelessly
deprived of will
there is NOTHING left
behind the curtain
to tremble in fear of
no more innocence
to twist with
dark intentions
or painful realities
nothing to confide in
or believe
accept
the deafening silence
falling back into a void
of thoughtless
and empty
where the strangled cries
of lost souls
are stolen away
without pride
never to be heard
