Where have you gone? I've missed you the last five years It's been so long but there are no more tears My memory is vague who are you again? You've become so fake can we stop trying to pretend? I know your heart aches although it may appear cold and hard I know all those years of fighting have pushed you so far Stop apologizing quit putting others first that was how you lost yourself let's not make things worse So who are you again? remind me for I've forgotten aren't you an independent woman? Aren't you a wonderful friend? Where has your ambition gone? What about all of your plans? Let's piece together this puzzle it requires no man I'm beginning to remember you were gone for so long How could I let this happen? I am trying to be strong I will not hide you anymore whether I'm one or half of two for you are me and I am sure that I will always be you

Geez... I remember feeling like this a handful of years ago now. It's an awful feeling, really - an inner-voice-screaming that you took a wrong turn somewhere along the line. But, you're right. We really don't ever change all that much. Somewhere inside us our true self exists, waits... and the dreams we had for ourselves, our lives, never die. No matter how long it has been since one lost sight of them, it is and ever will be possible to find a way back to them.
Know that it is possible, always. And honestly, because of what you wrote here - I'd suggest your half way there already. : )
Follow your heart. It will light the way.

(who got a bit lost along the way, but thankfully... so thankfully!... found her way back)

I think we've all come to this place in our lives, or at least everyone will sooner or later. It's strange, but somewhat comforting and almost nostalgic to rediscover yourself, and start to find out who you were, who you are now, and who you will be going forward. Experiences like these just mold us and help us grow, and it's nice to see that you've put it all on paper, it was a pleasant read. Thanks for posting. |
