Mid-Night Rout (2 a.m. and semiconscious)

Contributed by Silent-No-More on Sunday, 28th October 2007 @ 06:06:25 PM in AEST
Topic: anguished

I laid down with it
knowing even as I did
that I hadnt even tried to deny it
realizing, as I closed my eyes
in that perfectly horrid moment
of giving in,
that it had only found me
because I had run
too far away.

[Author's note: Perhaps more will come in time... I can't really say (especially given that this was, at best, a semi-conscious endeavor and consciously I don't know if I've the wherewithal to say any more). I only know that right now - it needs to be as precisely incomplete as it might seem. That, oddly enough, is the whole of it.]

Giving in - sometimes you get so far away you can't remember why you're running. Hopefully the moment isn't horrid, because that means all our fears are true....

sometimes the words just come eh?

always something to ponder in your words,
mj

It seems as if you to have entered a state of fear and loathing

I love it that this was written at 2am in a semiconscious state.Succinct,it may be,but it has a mighty pull.
Being found because you had run so far away? Now that beauty did it for me,left me haunted and drawn in .

I loved this one. Hardly a rout when you captured it in this bullet of a poem! haha

"in that perfectly horrid moment
of giving in"

That's exactly how I imagine it.
