Sanctuary

Topic: InspirationalPoems

Sun breaks through the thin veil of cotton wool clouds, dapples the lawn where I sit
Tranquillity plays the tune, melody wraps around me, contents me like a kiss
Velvet flowers dance on the lightest of breeze, hypnotically they sway
Seduction to the bees that hum, visiting each in turn

White pillows of angels dissolve into the sky, separate like tissue paper into the blue
Green carpet takes a lighter shade, bathed by a sea of gold
Aeroplanes draw criss cross pencil lines across the heavens
As swallows in the summer haze plummet and rise

Troubles subside in this haven of colours and birdsong
Mother Nature has filled my cup, of her spirit I gladly sip
The aroma of her sweet perfume sedates all thoughts of bitterness
Asleep the mind of angered life, awake the mind of calm

Afternoon rolls silently as shadows stretch and grow
Butterfly alights on folding flower, its message to journey home
For a while I sit and ponder, till the chill of night pervades
My sanctuary has renewed me, its beauty makes me whole

Beautifully portrayed..Capturing the beauty of nature, and putting it into words is no easy task, considering its complexity and spendor, but you wrote a chef-d'oeuvre. Fantastic!
