Impressions Faust a Dismal Heart

Topic: DarkPoetry

A thousand years, a thousand more,
A thousand lives Ive lived to date.
Yet in their vast and fruitful store
Ive yet not felt the loving warmth
Until the candid months of late.

Bereft of light, my world it lies
In darkened halls and somber waves.
My mind adrift in deep disguise,
An ebon veil before my eyes,
I lay there still within my grave.

No human hand, no mortal word
Could free me from this timeless dance;
A masquerade, a mask absurd,
To shade my face, a craven bird,
Caught amidst foul circumstance.

Necrologies thus, lest words suspend
Could dedicate a wholesome lot;
To catalog, and in the end
When ink be dry and wounds have mend,
Left a tale from sorrow wrought.

But as I were, my mind doth stray,
The thoughts I sought record.
For where I was and where I may
Find the courage on this day
To lift myself above the sword.

Twas love I spoke with sighing act.
Though love were cast beyond my sight.
Twas love that sought to here extract
The dismal color, fearsome black,
And here instill eternal light

The love was not of mortal whim,
But born of beauty, mind and craft .
Twas art and music, vibrant vim;
A twilight glimpse of Ludwigs hymn
That left my soul to alter aft.

W O W !!!!

It has been a while since I've read something with such an amazing ancient poetic feel to it.
I adore this style, (and wish I were more able to mold it myself). This is just outstanding,
though as I said, I am severely biased. However, even though it is in a style that grabs
my attraction, I can still say the content as well as the metre, flow, & rhyme were perfectly
executed.

This is, in the all of everything, a rare treasure!

I can only guess who the name, "Ludwig" could be, but I'm going to assume it
is Beethoven. (How wonderful!) PLUS, the fact that this is SOOOOO incredibly
POEesque makes this even more desirable and appealing to me. Your
impressions are brilliant .. and so much like they were molded from my
very own heart, that they delight me to no end! Wonderful work,
poet!

Inspiration and wonder never cease in the world of art!! =)

Damn lovely. (Off to read again)
