THE MOTHER IN ME...

Topic: dedicatedpoems

HE SITS UP CRYING FOR MOMMA BUT ONLY FINDS ME
IS IT THE MOTHER IN ME THAT KEEPS ME GOING
WHEN I CAN'T TELL HIM MOMMA'S HERE
I'M NOTHING MORE THAN AN AUNT?

THE MOTHER OF ME
WON'T LET THEM BE
ALONE WITH NONE TO LOVE THEM
THE MOTHER IN ME CRIES
WHEN THEY CRY FOR HER
BUT ONLY GET ME

SHE WAKES UP CRYING FOR MOMMA AND TEARS FALL HARDER
WHEN I'M THE ONE THAT ANSWERS HER CALL
IS IT THE MOTHER IN ME
THAT COMFORTS HER FEARS

THE MOTHER OF ME
WON'T LET THEM BE
ALONE WITH NONE TO LOVE THEM
THE MOTHER IN ME CRIES
WHEN THEY CRY FOR HER
BUT ONLY GET ME

WHAT KIND OF MOTHER COULD WALK AWAY
FROM SUCH INNOCENT BEAUTY,
WHAT KIND OF WOMAN AM I?
TO LOVE WHAT IS NOT MINE..

IS IT THE MOTHER IN ME
WHO CARES SO MUCH
IS IT THE MOTHER IN ME
THAT LOVES EVERY MOMENT..
THE MOTHER IN ME WONT LET THEM HURT
THE MOTHER IN ME IS NOW FREE...

Heart wrenching but beautifully written.
I never could understand a person abandening their babies, especially their mom.
You are doing a great thing here. Even if their mother comes back when they are older and need comfort they will come to you.
Be very proud of who you are.
Huggs, luv, smiles, blessings,
emy

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
