Here on planet Earth
Whims are granted in thirds
Finish your food
Or you wont get dessert
Lick the plate clean
With water to quench your thirst
Nothing goes to waste
All is empty space
A simple case
Of a mistaken identity-
A hurtful phase
With a multiple personality face
From onset to an elaborate escape
Scattered like seductive tongues on a forgotten taste
They flock for free goods
In circles of blissful ignorance they pace
Leave the wreckage for the wrecking crew
A message was delivered
The recipient never knew
Links of events which escalate into the present tense
Content in the moment of irrelevance
Upset by the lack of a vivid consciousness
A close shot yields to a frightful near miss
A tear traded for the chance of a first kiss
Enhance the reception or static will interrupt the seductive hiss
The whispers of truthfulness
Mister and misses
Mistresses and minerals with delicious provisions
Pillows scattered on mattresses a silky religion
Nutritious grains
Providing conditions of pain
Revisions outdating original scripts
A visit from the fairy tales on which they insist
Are true meanings of lessons on life and its precious gifts
And so the expanding rift
In messianic promises
Indeed do exists
Reread the passages
What is gleaned
Is this:
Here in the real world
You dont get everything you wish
You cant say a magic word
And suddenly youre indulged
Magically youre fulfilled
A mere celebratory thrill
Shallower in terms of resistance
Words bounce off chests
And leap into pockets of persistence
Swept and unkempt
Under the carpet of neglect
Where no one protects anothers neck
No one bothers to take a hard look
Or even periodically check
What was once here
Has now surely left
Gone
Goodbye
Good grief
Oh my
We are alone
With nothing inside
