Fading Light

Contributed by emolaw69 on Sunday, 23rd December 2007 @ 04:05:10 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

Your life had crashed, engulfing you in sadness
Out of no where came help in the form of a boy.
He shed his white light, took your mind off the madness
Became your diversion, so that life you could enjoy.

He boosted your ego and rebuilt your self worth
Bestowed warmth to your heart; enthralled you with rarity.
Removed the sadness, transforming it into mirth
Then lifted confusion and replaced with clarity.

In your mind you thought it was too good to be true
What you wanted all your life was now at your door.
Now you had to decide whether or not to pursue
And to ask yourself "Can I go through this anymore?"

Do you reach for the white light and build life anew?
Or cower in the darkness and let fear take control?
Retreat to your comfort zone, stay with what you knew?
Or take a stroll to a new land and set a new goal?

Your heart picks your past, but instinct says start over
Conflicting emotions that tear you in two.
Returning to the madness means living like a rover
And stepping in the light would be your debut.

To leap or not to leap, that was the question
But after all is said and done, you made your choice.
Instead of taking chances you took regression
Subconsciously deciding to silence his voice.

Their could be regrets, that no one can be sure of
But one thing for certain is that door will stay closed.
It's not revolving even if you give it a shove
You didn't choose the light and now it has to be disposed.
