Beneath The Trees of Fickled Time

Contributed by Tot on Saturday, 5th January 2008 @ 12:55:15 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

what animosity,
such tragedy
living in the savage parody
that is reality
who you are
is what you become
on the roads you travel
you walk alone
grasp the hands
of those beside you
never forget the peace inside you

though the desert may be long and full
the blazing sun will set on night soon
surely you shall find me in the shade
beneath the trees of fickled time
buried there beneath a breeze
of sunnier days and windless trees

though the clouds may be set upon this darkness
there is a dream within the crest
upon the breast of loving truth
lies the slivered words
of severed youth
delivered from the eager seams
ripped apart from past-like dreams

who are you but a distant memory
lost inside my head
a dreary reality
surely
my love
you shall find me
beneath the shade
of a sunnier day
when the skies' blackness
was truly so far away
just one kiss
lasted a lifetime
but oh, just a moment
I looked away
clouds broke the sun
set in the rain

though it freezes upon the brim of my tears
I imagine
sunnier days when the clouds seemed so far away
my love was just beneath the shade with me
the river moved so quietly
we laughed until we cried
love sang into the night
giving way to the rain
that once represented life

kindred is the spirit
that feels pain beyond death
no eternity passed upon the shade
no clouds, no rain
just my love and I
beneath the trees of fickled time
the love that would not die

Oh my dear Kandice ... what beautiful sadness! There is often such a weariness in the atmosphere of "lost love"
poetry - not so with this. It is refreshing and almost delightful, (in a melancholic sort of way). It tugs so at the
heart strings. It breathes us into a consciousness we may not be ready for, but relish in all the same. There is a
magic pleasure in feeling. Even if all that consists of, for the moment is pain. Memories are bittersweet, are they not?

I think this is one of the finest writes I've read by you. Truly a masterpiece. I'm so glad I ventured to
your page tonight. :)

(the moon lander ... lol thanks for the new questions btw. *wink*)
