i get asked a lot of questions
there was a time
when the only thing
id get asked
is
do you want fries with that?
but now,
i seem to get asked
for my opinion on things.
i dont know
why that is,
and frankly,
i dont like it.
i dont really
care to share my opinions,
mostly because
i dont think it matters.
i try to be polite,
but every now and then
i get a question that
sets me off
something that
kinda brings out the
devil in me.
like today
i get this e-mail
that asked:
im a big fan of your books
and im also a philosophy major.
id be very interested
in hearing your opinion
on the difference between
believing
and knowing
it was just too easy.
i couldnt resist.
i wrote back and said:
dear sir;
i got your e-mail asking for my thoughts
on the difference
between believing
and knowing
well,
honestly,
i believe i just dont know.

lmao. so what your page said is true, huh, about the books you published and poems you wrote?
"i believe i just dont know".
this seems like it wasnt meant to be an impressive poem, simply expressing an opinion, right?
i havent heard one like this. i rather liked it.

Nice, I like that response.
I recall a high school philosophy teacher asking the tree question of the class...
"If a tree falls in the forest... "
I popped off with... "if there was no one there to hear it... then there was no one there to see it. How do we actually know, that it did indeed fall?"
He was a tad bit less than amused.
