Balloons and Dolls

A balloon of fear is floating slowly, 'round the room; do you see it? Pressing through the crazy tension Of that conservative intervention As the words fidget nervously on my lips.
The moment is maddening, This shyness coming over me! Scared like a fawn, hugging the tree, As I stretch my neck timidly, to see Between the lines of what you say and what you mean.
Frail like a vintage doll Waiting for your call; And I take your hand...
You knew the tears would come If you said what's on your mind. You knew the softness of my lips And the brush of my fingertips Would drive you mad if you gave it up.
Frail like a vintage doll, Waiting for your call; And you say the words...
The dagger of your courage Stabbed the balloon of reservation; Watch the restless air inside Take freedom for a crazy ride And throw the frailness of the doll Into a kiss of "don't let me go."

This write goes right to the heart.
Frail like a vintage doll,
that is so expressive and strong.
Well done on this poem.
