I guess maybe it was just a dream
Nothing real, it would seem.
In my dream, you wanted me gone
And in my dream, I tried to be strong.
I tried and tried to make this stick
But you made your decision and made it quick.
You left me behind, said I don't fit in
Left me wishing for the way things had been.
In this dream, you weren't you
By the end I was through
I couldn't take it, I was done
All this time, I had to run
But in this dream, I was going to slow
I could see everything, and me below
With everything just flashing by my side
what to do, I couldn't decide
But then I woke up, from that awful dream
and realized, My dream wasn't a dream
it was my life, and I woke with a scream.
