Our Generation is Failing

Contributed by aloneinthememory on Wednesday, 20th February 2008 @ 08:53:17 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

Our generation is failing
we're all living on technology and energy drinks
fueled by monsters, caffine.
Nobody sleeps, nobody dreams, nobody learns.
Our imaginations are beat out of us by
videogames and high tech graphics.
Images are fed to us through T.V. screens
we have no use for books, social contact or thought.

It's become obsolete.

Our dreamers have all been taught not to think
Thinkers told not to think
Speakers told not to speak
Rebels told not to rebel.

They say they want unique,
but continue to teach conformity.
They want to schedule you, brainwash you
kill all hope.

Nobody escapes the majority
the minority remains too outspoken

We fear individuals and individuality

We envy those we fear
the strong, the brave, the fearless.
Those who dare to speak out
those who express

We only wish we were corageous

Our generations falling.

Wow.
I really love it, you really make a point, and I really agree.

You should have been in my english class, we had to read Julius Caesar but if my teacher saw that he'd like it. He taught us about how the media and society is basically screwed.

Great work.

It's interesting that you have this view, so many of your generation don't see things the way you do.
It does seem like things have changed since I was a kid, but I'm sure my parents said the exact same thing !!
Some things never change.......minds wandering during lessons !!

Good write

Steve
