There are three little words, Three tiny little words that I wish to hear From a special Someone Who cares just for Me.
There are three syllables, Three small, short, easy sounds that I wish to hear From my one and only You Right here next to Me.
These three words are magic. They once dripped carelessly from our lips, Not treasured as they should have been. Now, I fear, they will never be uttered again.
I make myself bold. Take a deep breath.
I ask you, on this night, Head on your shoulder, Gazing at your profile in the dimness... I dare to ask.
"Can you say those words?"
You stare at me. Your eyes grow wide, and you sigh. You stare at me like I am a pest.
Finally you smile and say I am the best. You like me lots, you say, and kiss me To try and make me forget.
I forgot for a minute, lost in you. But I remember now, and I know. You won't say it...yet. You don't feel it...yet.
But You are Mine, my own.
I sigh sweetly, And let the Moment pass. Looking down at the seat, I see... Our hands together, tightly clasped.
