I hold you here in my past
stuck in the memories
that scream out for salvation.
I cry for you to save me
as muscles tense
and fingers grasp at sheets.
the mouth of a contorted face
gapes in silent screams
as sweat streams in cold rivers
across burning skin.
the body jerks
twitches rhythmically
squeals and grunts
like a dying pig
until at last, exhausted,
the body is at peace
I keep you here trapped with me
caged in the nightmares
that beg for absolution
