You used to look me deep in the eyes
Held me close to you at night
Whispered sweet nothings into my ear
And made everything that seemed so wrong so right.
You used to talk with me late at night
Kissed me softly when you woke
Held my hand wherever we would go
And warmed my insides when you spoke.
You used to offer me your shoulder whenever I needed to cry
Opened your arms wide whenever I was in sight
Held me close never wanting to let me go
And you would sit up watching me sleep, all through the night.
You used to love me with everything you had
Dropped everything when I needed a hand
Stood by my side when everything seemed to fall apart
And picked me up when I was down, helping me to stand.
You used to offer me every one of these things
And now that you're gone I miss it all so much
I never knew the simplest things could cause the greatest pain
And I never knew that our love could lose its touch.
