Once upon a time
you were in my arms
even it it was only
in my dreams.
I watch as you get hurt
time after time
yet all I've ever been
to you
is a helpful word
and a shoulder
to cry on.
With every heartache
of yours,
my heart breaks
a little.
I feel as if I am
fading fast...
You're loosing focus
on me and what I could do
to help you be
truely happy.
Why can't you see that we
are perfect for one another?
We are the two halves
of one soul
but you decide
to remain
half empty.
If you wait too long
I will be nothing
but an evanescent flicker
of a thought
locked away in your
memory.
It breaks my heart
to let you out of it.
Until you finally
see me...
All I can do
is continue to dream...
