Somewhere In The Silence
Some choose to stand along with others But I chose to stand-alone And they may hear an entire song Where I search the empty tones
For somewhere in the silence Theres hidden serene noise You need not try to strain your ears Just try to keep them poised
And sometimes in that silence A hearts cry may be found But if youre not prepared for this Youll never hear the sound
Its kind of like, when people say To read between the lines Youll be surprise at what youll see Or what you just might find
So look into anothers face When lips have a shortfall And somewhere in the silence The eyes will tell it all

I felt that you lost the rythme a little in places, but it had no overall effect on the poem.
I think the 3rd stanza is the most telling and the most beautiful.
"And sometimes in that silence
A heart’s cry may be found
But if you’re not prepared for this
You’ll never hear the sound"
The ending is both profound and beautiful. I loved it and I loved the poem overall. |
