Air in the cell sits heavy Of mold and deep despair The captive broods and contemplates His state of disrepair
For all the acts of violence In which he's played a part The captive runs repeatedly Through mind and blackened heart
The sights which he's born witness Would break a weaker man The captive tries to wipe her blood Off of his killer hands
Her scream it echoes loudly And pierces deep his soul The captive finally sheds a tear For her life which he stole
A leather strap which cinches A needle tears through skin The captive begs for forgiveness Then dies for his worst sin

I really enjoyed this piece. It is dark and almost seductive. Drawing you into the words and in turn wrapping you in the mind of the "Captive"
Very well done
Peace,
