Good-Bye Forever

The cool night air drifts by
Five stars peep out from the thickly clouded sky
As usual its quiet here
Whenever I have time to reflect
Memories come back so clear
But reality I cannot reject
You do not care for me any longer
And lately Ive begun to wonder
If there ever was a time you cared
Or if you meant anything you said
A little less than three years we shared
But now that boy I fell in love with is dead
You have his body, but nothing of him remains in you
And slowly Im mending my heart, making it a-new
Soon Ill depart from here, never to return
I will not look behind me
The person you are now out of my mind Ill burn
And only that boy I first met will I see
I can never meet him again because he no longer exists
I know that is the truth even though my heart resists
I can only go forward now
I just hope that somehow
I will fall in love again; at least once more
But I do not know what the future holds in store
All I know is that this is good-bye
Forever.
