He wanders the streets not knowing exactly where he is. Everything a vacant place and time not even recognizing the street sighs.
Searching for him not knowing exactly where he is. Turning up miles from home confusion his best friend.
Asking about home, why he is not there. Though his warm bed is near him he really doesn't care.
He does not know......
Beautiful flower garden and his favorite books and poems. Sitting left beside themselves now on the table and book stand alone.
Looking at his lovely wife he has been with for many a year. Loving, working, travels and camping for her he has always cared.
He looked at her with a puzzled look tears flowing down his cheeks. Who are you he asked her? You are not my wife.
I don't remember your name..............

I've seen this first hand and you've captured the essence, the discouraged heart ..... and the feeling of utter loss these folks must have. Please God Take me before I would get like this. God Bless my friend, david (beautiful) |

Sad but well written.
My sisters husband has altimers. I know that's not spelled right.
It's really sad but sometimes he's comical like.
good work, friend.
huggs,

This scenario is very frightening to me, it's a situation that I would never wish on anyone, and I too have had this happen in my family. You got the emotion across quite well, and I think it was a very poignant ending/overall poem. Nicely done. |

Wow, this one brought out some deep sadness in me. I remember watching my grandfather forget who I was, my aunts and my mother as well. It's such a devastating disease to all involved, and I can only imagine what he must be going through. Be strong. Writing was superb, as always. |

This is sad - I think nearly everyone has had some sort of experience with this somewhere in their family, or a friend's family.
Good write about a sad subject.
