They all lied.
Theyll keep doing it too.
Tell you its a great thing,
Let you know how much it helped them

Those were the best times of my life.
Times have changed and this is not what you lived through.
Its not the end point I want,
Nor the journey Im seeking.

Based on complacency.
Be studious.
Drink that weekend away.
Put on that smiling face.
Worthless.

They lied straight to your face.
The best place to go,
Youll become such a better person.

If by better you mean stuck
In a place where number 1
Is the only one who exists.
Where free thought makes you poor.

Your friends will leave you.
Your enemies will still hate you.

Theyll feed it to you.
Eat it up and make a million.
Try new things and be alone.
Stay sober and be an outcast.
Blindly struggle on.
Rot your mind while learning.

Youll die inside then get thrown
Into an unmarked mass grave.
Were all dead when we get that degree,
But no one knows it anymore.
Jaded past recognition.
This is the best time of your life.
