Arms Length

Arms Length

At times its me you keep arms length
Thats not how this should be
And Ive pondered over what you said
Why do this unto me?

Do you find that its relief to you?
Or makes you feel the better
Then very carefully look at this
And read it to the letter

With this I just dont sit quite right
I think I sense it in my heart
For youve made me feel its not the same
As it had been at its start

But whats most strange, is where its felt
For its like this huge big knot
And its sharing a space within me
At a place that Id forgot

It may be time, which to prepare
For what may come to be
I dread to think unhappy thoughts
An end to you and me

Still many times Ive said before
And have sworn to him above
Whatever is to happen here?
You will always have my love

Yet, to this measure of your arm
That youre pushing me away
Simply choose the words you need
And your decision Ill not sway

This is very similar to a situation that my wife and I are going through right now...I will always love her despite whatever decision she may make but it is very very hard for me to not try and change her mind...because it is those unhappy thoughts that I dread so much...the ones of having to live without her....But just like you I pray to God above that I will never have to.....For my kids sake as well as my own....another great write....thank you for sharing.
