Who am I I am really very thin, and Stretched between two posts When the wind blows very hard I sound like wailing ghosts
Now when the sun is shining And Im feeling very shy They hang wet clothes upon me Then push me to the sky
A gentle breeze starts to blow They flap and wave up high Yes it is the modern way Because theyre all drip dry
A large piece of cloth is thrown over me And staked out at the side The kids all shout Wow! its a tent Then go inside to hide
I think that all of you have guessed Although Im very fine Im so very proud to say I am a washing line
