I locked eyes with my reflection
Searching my soul for an answer
Complicated controversies
Clawed their way across my heart
Digging out of my flesh
To scar themselves along my skin
Spinning across the night sky
A conclusion to my dead-end theory
Lingering right over the ledge
As I hung myself along the edge
Reaching out to grasp this revelation
Only to support uncertainty
Bricks fall from the ceiling tiles
Raining like a plague
Beating and breaking as they collide
Dropping like my stomach
When you turned to walk away
Breathing with stale convictions
Loyalties waiting to be redeemed or destroyed
I stand against this mirror
Facing complicated controversies
That tear my heart to shreds
You said to join you in the dance
But I was busy in the band
Notes strangle you in delirious bliss
Melodies waiver in and out of your subconscious
Remember what it meant to play
To dance tonight and fade to gray
