THE DANCER IN WHITE

Contributed by jsringo on Tuesday, 3rd June 2008 @ 10:12:17 AM in AEST
Topic: fantasy

She's a dancer dressed in white
When I close my eyes she's there
She dances for my pure delight
I look for her most every night
Long white dress and long black hair

She said her dance is just for me
Eagerly I await her show
No one dances quite like she
Should I touch or let her be
Should I keep silent or let her know

She always leaves me right at dawn
No dance is like the one before
She shows some skin then It's gone
A glimpse of flesh then It's withdrawn
My poor heart yearns for more and more

Will she appear and call my name
Can I keep her for my own
Will tomorrow be the same
Will she flicker like a dying flame
Or will her heart just turn to stone
