Woman of Stone
Every day just before dark I would take a walk in the nearby park I started going there to collect my thoughts It was only peace and quiet that I sought
One day I walked further than I usually did Finding behind some tall shrubs a statue had been hid It was of a lady but was severely weathered and worn Around her had grown a shield of thorns
The next day when I returned to the spot I brought some clippers; the battle of clearing to be fought I was captivated by the beauty of this lady I had found I would spend hours there without uttering a sound
I searched through all of the records I could find To try and get information on this lady who consumed my mind It was like she had just appeared from thin air There was no record of how or when she was placed there
I would sit every day and my inner most thoughts to her reveal I would never have believed a lady of stone my heart could steal I told her if she were alive I would court her and ask for her hand Together at the alter we would exchange our vowels as we stand
When I came back the next day some time with her to share To my amazement the statue of the lady was not there I sat and cried at the spot where she once stood I could not believe she was gone and here again be, she never would
As my tears ran down my face I heard someone approaching this special place I raised my head to see if I could tell who My jaw must have dropped a mile; I gasped You?
Before me stood the most beautiful lady I had ever met She told me that she had not quite figured things out yet But that the world had made her hardened and cold But that I chased that away with my heart made of gold
Happily ever after we will live out our days Our wishes came true in every possible way

But then there is no surprise in that...you have the ability to melt even the hardest of hearts...

Pure love and beauty in this write. So tender it flowed right to my heart, gave me a couple tears too.
You do have a heart of gold and this poem is shining with your heart touched through out it my friend.
I am awe struck once again.

A very interesting concept and filled with imaginative
and emotion provoking thoughts. I love the idea of a lady
made of stone by way of environment. It sets the mind
to wander and think on all sorts of things!
A lovely musing in every way ~
