The Mirror

Contributed by kolbrun on Friday, 14th March 2003 @ 06:20:00 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

This mirror does not reflect for there is none before it
when the mirror loves and none is there
the mirror is empty again
the mirror holds the love in the reflection
be not scared of what you see in the mirror
within is you the reality of yourself reflected to you
find happiness in that mirror
or it will become cloudy again
no swirls, dead, cold and silent as before.

Oh my self where are you?
Oh how I long for the sound of your voice
to caress me and make me one again;
ignite my soul making me one with thee
wanting you as no other - I never could.
I have been thine since infinity.

Why are you away from me?
Have I not searched for you more than my life?
No filling love like yours will there ever be,
the enchantment of you touch - into infinity
where are you oh mirror of my soul?
why dost thou hide from me?
I seek thee day and night
I long to see your smile as I once did
The love with which you have enfolded me has ebbed
Am I alone seeking memories past?
Is it that you beckon me to follow thee?
To come to thee with total surrender as I once had?
Speak to me - guide me to you.
Take my hand and let me walk with you.
Show me what else I need to do,
For only in my mirror do I see the love I give to you.

I will cherish this love in my heart and nourish it with affection
I will give to you this love through all eternity
for I know that we will be what we are supposed to be -
you the other half of me
I will cherish each moment with you as no other could
for you are my life the reason for me to be
I will cherish your smile like the ray of sunshine
after the stormy clouds have gone
and in my heart you will always be
even if you beckon to me in the distance
and I can't enfold you I know that you will always enfold me
I will cherish you even if we are apart
and never can touch to make this love complete
you will always be my love and my life
and I will always cherish thee

Love - of what do all the sages speak?
thine uncontrollable feeling of enfolding,
a feeling of belonging so bountiful that there is no other for me;
the thought of you alone transports me to be
with you in our special place
where neither time nor mind has control.
We are one in ecstasy this becomes our reality;
How can I forsake this love you give?
For me there will never be another who can fulfill this love -
this life or the next - I will search for thee.
I will call to thee - heed my call,
for my comfort comes from only you -
and always my love will be for thee.

Oh boy! This really did sort some things out for me. I've never thought of things in such simple terms before, but it works, it really does!!!
