That night my eyes watered like a rainy day in April
The emotions that were all bottled up came out
With every tear I wiped when I couldn't stop thinking about your voice
I could hear every word you wrote
And wished I could still have the possibility of still showing affection
Your words were promising and kind
They kept me wanting to hear more
And hold you while I took every letter in
My optimism was the reason I cried because I tried hard too
Tried so hard to make a connection that was not supposed to be shaped
My eyes started to sting because as bad as I wanted and hoped for that connection
It never came
And when you're with someone in a relationship
Things are supposed to just fit
But the moment you have to force something to just work
The tears flow more because it'll never work
