I was only a month old when you gave me away
And that is all I have to say
But to this day
I still love you anyway
I know you didn't mean to leave me hurting this way
And here I lay
thinking of you
I want to sue
because I can't see you
It's breaking my heart
It's tearing me apart
I scream in the night
my brown eyes shining bright
Because not having you
gives me a fright
You gave me faith
you gave me love
you've given me the golden singing voice
I've got no other choice
but to use my voice
to set myself free
Free to be me
Life is so hard without you sometimes
but there is no time to whine
So I close my eyes and think of you
cuz I know you will always think of me too
You are in my heart forever and for always
You are in my soul forever and for always
And I will be your daughter... forever and for always.
