This old road seems unending. carry your thoughts wherever I roam. A call of the wild this heart rendering wander-lust, everywhere is home.
West ward direction is where we are heading, painted sunsets, along we go. Here comes another rainstorm raising her head above the hills. Smell the dampness, brushed on hot asphalt Lighting and rolling thunder shrill.
I think of you, when you are not near me. I hear your voice, smell your cologne. My heart feels weary, almost broken I wish you were coming home.
I see your smile and it warms me, I want to taste the sweet honey of your kiss Wrap my hands soft yet firm around your hips I feel your warmth, like springs sun and it melts me where I stand. Before I sleep it is your eyes I see.
We have our ghosts that haunt us. We dream of brighter and bigger dreams. We drive our demons from our souls now searching far for our souls release.

Hi Michelle,
beautiful poem. Especially like the lines:
'Here comes another rainstorm raising her head above the hills.
Smell the dampness, brushed on hot asphalt
Lighting and rolling thunder shrill.'
Very atmospheric. And 'wander-lust' is that a word you have coined yourself? Look forward to reading more when I get a minute.

You two write so beautifully together. The piece flowed so well together, it's
hard to believe two writers were present. Wonderful imagery and word
choices. Your metaphors left me in a breathless stare. Captivating as hell!!
*hugs*

WOW!
This is wonderful and strikingly beautiful. Driving our demons, and there are so many ways you two use that term. Most cleverly....the act of driving and taking in the world while pondering a loved one. How peacefully torturing is that. A brilliant concept summed up to perfection by two fine poets. The opening so beautiful, the last stanzas so powerful and full of longing.
SUPERB!
