Learning to fly

I don't always say what I mean to
You know it's hard for me
Hard for me to explain
But you stayed by my side
Helped me out when the words just wouldn't form
And caught me whenever I started to fall

Don't think I'm not grateful
For all that you've ever done
Ever done for me
But now it's time for me to learn
I need to spread my wings and fly away

You held onto me
Kept me safe
But it's time for me
To leave the nest
And learn to fly

I will stumble and I will fall
And many times I'll lose my way
Lose my way home
But I know I, I'll pick myself up off the ground
And take off into the blue sky once again

Don't worry any more
I'm gonna make it, I'm gonna fly
Fly away and be free like I was meant to be
Just smile when you say goodbye
