the forest is awaking

Topic: NaturePoetry

This forest so deep and green the eternal twilight does look mean.

Tall trees of emerald green tower high seeming to touch the night sky.

A fawn picks its way over a tree root while an owl does cry a loud hoot

The stars do shine but you can see none under this sea of endless pine.

These trees grow tall so as to shelter these animals so small.

To them this is home while by night no human does dare roam.

This night so cold whistling through these trees so old the moon shines like white gold.

As a graceful hawk does fly this cold night is beginning to die.

The sun is rising fast the night this night will soon be in the past.

As the golden sun does appear there arises a family of deer.

The forest is waking dawn is breaking.

Kelly, you have so many beautiful phrases in your poem, especially "forest so deep and green" and "sea of endless pine." Very nice.
