Mind Wars

Contributed by spike on Wednesday, 25th June 2008 @ 11:40:36 PM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

Theres a battle of sorts
raging within
an age old war between
sense and sin
angels and devils,
shoulder opposed
confuse the mind
with thoughts transposed

The inner voice, soft and gentle
baby ego in its cradle
the other voice, dark and cruel
thumps like a bass line,
kicks like a mule
worthless, useless, nothing to give
failure, loser - why do you live?

Theres a deep down struggle of
shadows and light,
between roads less travelled
and paths of delight
between supportive self
and hateful swell
but all is me, so all is well.

"but all is me, so all is well."

..hmmmm, I wonder.

I love how you wrote this one spikers. It boasts of a well adjusted soul, encased within an eerie sort of persona.
A touch of Smeagol, indeed!! An inherent argument, never seemingly resolved. A battle is a great way to
describe this turmoil we so oft find ourselves in. And the circumstances of our day and mood seem to affect this,
"smeagol" in the most acute way.

Excellent post, poet. A delight for every sense, even if it is a bit frightening to have to take a hard look at ourselves.

A perfect blend of intrigue, philosophy and poetry.

=)

Oh, how thin a line it is. I love this, Spike. It's...well, it grabs in it's honesty and truth. All is well. Job well done, my friend.

Be well,
Loende

Wouldn't life be a lot simpler if there wasn't that turmoil between the two?! There's light and darkness to everybody and sometimes whichever is the dormant one does surface and turns everything upside down.
