Sorrowed Songs

Golden touches and broken spells are cast To embolden a dream of love at last, Unwavering rigid maledictions Riddled by these constant contradictions.
Escaping peril and angels oppressed; Maidens scarred, barons barred by crimes confessed. Twilight prayers may never find reprieve; Songless moons mourn as sorrowed sinners grieve.
Endless moments and empty stares are found Words go unheard as fantasies abound As chasing tongues entice these broken hearts Welled eyes chase pursed lips; soon regret departs.
Passing days sing sorrowed songs endlessly If this tune would cease two hearts may agree. With mournful refrains beginning anew, With these two hearts finally beating true.

Hello dear Wizard,
We had not become familiar with your poetry until tonight, though this piece makes us curious for more. In honour of your write, we place pointy purple hats on our heads, complete with golden moon and stars. We hold golden batons in our hands, which also have stars at the end of them. Simultaneously we say, "Abracadabra" and wave our wands, hoping to find two hearts made anew. But instead, appearing before our eyes out of thin air are two old hearts. One, from a man named Roger who died during the Renaissance and one from a girl named Sue, who died before she got the chance to meet her brother, a boy named Sue. She was in her eighties when she died and her long lost brother was talked about in a song written by Shel Silverstein and performed by Johnny Cash. We don't know why her brother made such a fuss, for Sue was quite satisfied with her name. But none of that is the point. Roger died long before he could have ever met Sue. Sue was born long after Roger died, which means these two hearts could never have met, had we not shouted "Abracadabra" simultaneously. Now here they are ... together, on the same golden platter. And as we pour cream of mushroom on top of them, they are part of the same heart stew.
So the point is, just as your poem exclaims about two people, once in separate places now joined anew, our experiment has brought two old hearts, once separate and made them anew in our delicious heart stew. Bravo Sir poet, wizard type thing. We applaud your efforts to make hearts anew with your words. And we'll enjoy your tasty poems along with our tasty heart stew.
May little tiny wizards appear on your belly tonight as you sleep, saying "Abracadabra" and turning your head into that of a goat's.

Wow. This was an incredible piece of
writing. I... I don't know what to say. I could
tell you which lines touch me, but I'd have to
pull every one of them out. The mere thought
of 'escaping peril and angels oppressed' is
astounding. There, I did it anyway. Your
alliteration is subtle and unimposing.
Perfection attained, again. |
