~Years took us away drifting along our paths of life.~
~The wind sighed in the tree's, river wound round the bends.~
~The pines all grew from seeds, now stand towering on the mountain~
~We all but a word away, though we did not speak~
~Time has a cruel punishment, when the end draws near~
~It is then to late to say the things, someone needed to really hear~
~In the lonely halls of self, we each carry our own thoughts~
~ A word away but it lingers on pursed lips, does it matter now?~
~We speak of love and it is there, lingering with the clouds~
~Floating light and scared, special, coming with dawns first blush of light~
~ Dancing in eddies of the river where the big browns lay in wait~
~Reflections of the shadows, undisturbed on grassy banks.~
~Another fine paper stage sits silent now, a word away~.
~The pen rests lonely near the bedside table, no more words to say~
~Maybe we will hear his words, light upon the winds~
~A dream upon the pillow when we rest our mournful hearts~
~We drift inside our own thoughts before hanging up the phone~
~A word away though we sit and linger for a silent moment~
~Exchanging a sweet goodbye and we will see each other soon~
~ To bad the word away brings the garden together in the midst of a funeral~
~It is just the way it is, so many words, floating yet never said~
~Piling into corners hiding under beds~
~Final so final, no going back in time~
~Hoping that the word away in his heart for eternity will rest sublime~
~

So sorrowful yet so beautiful. You have put on paper how so many of us feel day to day. To me I feel as if this is the biggest regret that each and every one of us fear the most....not saying things to someone that needs to be said before they pass on from this world. Once again beautiful write Michelle...My prayers and thoughts are with you.
