Just A Kiss Goodbye.

Topic: goodbyepoetry

I took the broken pieces from inside
And laid them down where the angels reside
Next to a garden of lilies
That blossomed from all the tears that were cried
Spilled from the eyes of those who weep
Over loved ones that have died
This is where I mourn the death of us
And the passing of me
Or at the least the person I was
Not the person I've come to be
Here in this lonely cemetery
Even the shadows cry
Cry over the death of you and I
We were like Romeo and Juliet with a twist
A love that could never be denied
Ever since the first time we kissed
A true love story in the making
That ended with one heart breaking
Now I stand amidst the graves
Remembering the love we had
And I weep for you, yes I weep for you
Because it's all that I can do
Ever since I took the broken heart inside my chest
And all the memories of us and laid them to rest
In a shallow grave marked with the date of the day you left
I need this release, this inner peace
I had to finally let go
So as the lilies continue to grow
Watered by the tears that will forever stream
From a lost romance and a shattered dream
There will still be moments that I save
As I step away from our love's grave
Only leaving a kiss goodbye
...Just a kiss goodbye.

Some times I wish we never had to know that word.
It is so harsh at times.
You captured your heart and the words and feelings just poured out to all who read, I feel your tears and sadness well done but I am sorry for your hurt.

Hugs
Michelle
