Fire.
Absolute. Burning. Passion.
Colors of vivid reds and oranges
Intense, eye-locking, mind-boggling,
soul captivating feelings.

He walks in the room.
Her head is turned away from him,
but she can feel his presence suddenly there.
Her heart races. Hes looking at her; she doesnt know it.
TURN AROUND!
Her blood is flowing so quickly
she can feel it pouring through her veins,
like water rushing rapidly down a stream.
The beating of her heart has gotten so strong
that she thinks everyone around her can hear
the loud pounding against the wall of her chest.
TURN AROUND DAMMIT!
Shes sweating.
She swears that the beads of perspiration freeze
As they trickle down her cold skin.
She doesnt know hes looking at her.

He walks away, doesnt say a thing.
She turns around.
As he exits, her body returns to its normal state.
Skin cooling down;
Heart beating in sync with the rest of the world.
She wonders if hell ever look at her
The way she looks at him.

If she had only turned around.

I think you really captured what life can like in the world of early stages of first love. Pheromones at full throttle. Will it happen? Do they notice each other? They do notice each other but don't seem to know it. Too cool. Very nicely done!

Thanks,

Tim

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
