Daemon

Looked down on long ago I felt it
While the fire burned unattended
And you told your stories of the past
And learned from each others mistakes
While a candle burned in the corner
Melting away the hours
While the slender wick burned down sacrifice
So we could gaze into each others eyes
Unknowing

Time trickled away like sand
Hours ticked and although I heard them
I pushed away the warnings
I could not pull away like light in darkness
You pulled me puppeteer with invisible strings
And I sat transfixed and listened to your stories
Your smile melted pain away
Your eyes a calm amber gold full of firelight
Undying

It occurred to me that night did not pass
And seemed to lengthen, stretch and grasp
At me pulling me deeper while you smiled
And held me with your golden cats eyes
Demon

I knew you for what you were yet I in my ignorance
Invited you in and asked you to stay
I hoped you'd never go away
You raised your hands and I gasped
As claws gleamed golden
In the light of the dyeing candle,
You moved graceful like water
And I couldnt find a reason why I should
Scream

Burning smile caresses like nails
Fangs silver reflecting the gold
In your eyes and your smile
Beautiful in the dying light of my eyes
As your embrace stole away my
Soul
