I am sorry
Sometimes these words just aren't enough
Saying those words does not undo certain pains
When you tell me that you love me
Yet you keep my heart and soul in chains
You can say those words all day long
But those shackles are still on me
I can feel them tightening daily
Making it hard to breathe
My heart aches and you don't notice
You don't hear my screams for help
You simply say I am sorry
And expect me to smile
Swallowing all this pain back down

Raw, and beautifully painful.
No one can give an apology and ask that it be accepted. The apology poem that I just posted for my wife will do little if remedy any of her pain.
The person needs to show that they are repentent for what they have done.
Keep your chin up and don't give in.....

I think this is powerful because many forget that just because we may forgive someone for wrongdoing this does not put the relationship back to were it was.There are consequences and part of that maybe allowing the abuser to no he/she is forgiven but setting boundaries to protect yourself.

I like the bit of twist, in that I was expecting this to be an apology poem from you. But you totally sucked me in to reading till I couldn't stop.

Wow, that was very cleverly written. I wondered why the question mark was in your intro. Now, I know. A nicely woven art.
Yep[, just saying sorry doesn't always help. Funny how some people seem to think that just by merely saying "sorry" it magically takes all the pain and abuse they're apologizing for go away.

Kara people think that when they say
I'm sorry that all will be forgiven & forgotten.
One has to mean it when they say it and they
need to prove that they are really sorry.
A deep heartfelt write. You have an excellent

Oh sweets ... I know just what you are going through and it
is painful to read. I"m so sorry for the ache that never gets
noticed, sorry for the stress it perpetuates and sorry that a sweet
girl like you must suffer endless days of running in circles like
this. :(

this is true bad experiences in a relationship weight down on the people it effect i've been there but everyones pain is unique so i can't say i know how you feel hope things do get better for you

| nice work, very powerful. very clearly portrayed is the pain not only of the abuse but the constent turn around from apologies, kind of like an insult to injury kind of situation if you get what im trying to say? its not just the abuse, its also the betrayal of the apology so to speak |
