Rain mixed with midnight air
Forming a melody as each drop splashes down
As the wind flows through my hair
The lights dim in this little town
The trees sway all in unison
Lightening flashes; Zeus has awakened
By the Cyclops these bolts were fashioned
The air that clings to my lungs is sweetened
It seeps into every fiber of me
Filling my heart with delight
For only an instant the lightening sets the shadows free
And all my dreams take flight
The rain brings me some hope
Though I do not know how long it'll last
I want to believe in love
But often cannot
I am content for now in this moment
For an instant my sorrow is absent
I haven't done this since I was a child
I laugh as I dance in the rain

I love to stand out on my porch and watch the electrical storms. They keep the demons of the night at bay. Great write you have penned.
