Haunted by the vastness of eternity By unknown beginnings and endings of things beyond our realm Memories of men of fame and myths Achilles Hector Odysseus and Nestor. Forgotten to children of our era Heroes now of inconsequence Where are our real heroes in the hallowed halls of fame? In a lifetime of ours men rise and fall like winter wheat Time can be transcended Wheels within wheels of time Lost in the stars are they beings? Whispers of names caught in the wind Surrendering time, page upon page of past experiences. Remember the times gone past And their lessons learned.

This poem is utterly unique and exquisite-
Indeed, compared to characters of uncertain
history and brilliant legend, peoples "Hero's"
today are ridiculous!
I think even Homer is a hero- he brought us
the indescribible(Sorry about my spelling today) poems The Iliad and The Odyessy, you could also call them great stories- I
cannot think of a better poet!
