As I take the wisdom of my mom I absorb the feelings of my wife It's the calm before the storm and the tracks of my life. In between a rock and a hard place.
As I respectfully listen to some parental guidance I hear eavesdropping along our bedroom wall It's the defense of my heart and soul alliance with the drunken balance to stand tall. In between a rock and a hard place.
As I vacated my mom's apron strings I took grasp of my wife's ropes. It's the child still under the wing and the household soaps. In between a rock and a hard place.
As I listen to maternal wisdom with it's ties I hear my partner in the shadows. It's breathless cries and what the heart must endow. In between a rock and a hard place.
