Where lays the truest nature of man? What sings his heart to peal through his soul? Where is it that our pursuit had began? What prods and burgeons us all to proal? What is it you give for that you inquire? Will you martyr your love, all that have given? What scales will be shed, shunning lifes mire? Will you acquire your hope, then wish to be forgiven? One life, but truly how much adoration? Ambition blinding to all that is present Pitting time against love, such days aberration One day may lead to an endless repent What echoes loudest in the well of our soul? Where will we find what makes our essence toll?

My dear friend,
it is in "our nature" to destroy ourselves, but perhaps with the questions you've
posed, some of us can be saved and even spared the heart ache that we all seem
to covet. I say, "covet" for it is become abundantly clear to me that having recovered
from a painful experience we jump right back in and can't wait to "get hurt" again.
(In a manner of speaking) More of us should be asking ourselves the very
questions you yourself ponder in this wonderful sonnet.
(is this becoming a habit? *winks* I hope so! :D)
~ Breezy
(who believes the sonnet is NOT dead! Not by a long shot!)
