new look at things

Contributed by lostforgood on Thursday, 20th March 2003 @ 12:45:00 PM in AEST
Topic: Suicide

I stand among the mountain top
Turn my head up and close my eyes
I feel the wind so strong and swift
Combing through my dull brown hair
It swirls and about my yucky body
Twists and turns...rips and tears..
Then the rain starts to fall
Gliding, sliding, washing all wrong
It seeps inside to cleanse my soul
It closes up my giant hole
I feel me rising in the air
Then I open my eyes and stare
I've been here all along
In my dark cold room all alone
But now I am not quite as scared
I know now that when I go
I will not go to heaven or hell
But my body and soul will be cleansed
And I will be sent to live with the stars
So I tell you, when I do
Do not grieve, be relieved
Go out at night and look straight up
The clouds will part and there I'll be
Shining brightly, smiling lightly
I'll never leave, I promise that
I will just become a night time star
With such striking beauty that you'll have to stare

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
