Memories

Can you sense what I am feeling
Do you know the emotions deep within my heart
The longing, the sadness, the constant memories
That flood my vision and make me worse
Every word you said echos in my mind
I hear it clear as the day you spoke them
You were always the drug my eyes were addicted to
I promised myself that unlike last time and I kept it
When we danced I'd bury my face in your neck
My senses heightened I could smell your skin
Tangy, like citrus but yet not even close
The feel of your hands on my back sent shivers down my spine
I could feel every muscle in your body
Every time you moved a finger I felt it through your body, on my skin
The entire crowd was gone I was so happy
My body fit yours perfectly
I miss that feel I need to hold you again
When, in that hotel room you laid down
Right next to me on that bed, despite all our friends in the room
I blushed and couldn't keep my mind straight
All I could think was "He's laying in the same bed as me he's laying in the same bed with me!"
Do you know how much I longed to curl up against you
To lay my head on your shoulder and lace my fingers into yours
Yet now the time is done
You're back home an hour away
And I'm sitting in my room, hugging a pillow
It's not the same
I haven't heard from you in so long I really miss you
I understand you're busy
College, traveling, work
You have no time to live, let alone stay in touch
It's okay I'm used to it
After I met you, you went away, far away
I barely heard from you at all
Yet my love remained strong
It still is strong
I survived before, I'll do it again
Just don't forget me
I know you don't love me
But you care about me
So next time we meet
Hold me tightly, whisper in my ear that you missed me
Even if you really didn't
Give me that satisfaction please
Make my heart beat rapidly
Like you always did
