in great pageantry they arrive, a chorus line across the sky,
a call to both ear and eye upon their returning flight,
diversion from the winter mood, their siren song plays amid the still tentative skies,
they come on a prayer even weeks before, the new leaves pink the trees with spring,
they vie for voice in a turbulent time, and to my heart they override, the sounds of missiles, tanks, and hate,
in tune, concurrent with this time,
they ascend on sky their leap of faith this majestic sight, , as they remind,
this vision of peace upon an uncertain sky
