The devil's eating little children
in the woods behind the graveyard tombs
ghouls stare from dark windowed houses
'pon the dead end road.
Roses lay 'pon white sheets ;
filthy, torn , soaked with blood
A body lay on a country road ; naked , dead ,
a perch for crows
The children walk at midnight now,
speaking ( though they are'nt alive).
The ghouls crawl through widowsills
and bare their teeth in moonless night
Wolves crowd the bedroom floor and
lap the pool of lover's blood
Somewhere on a country road
a body twiches , scattered crows
The devil climbed my garden tree
and , through my window , stares at me
Ghouls 'pon the rooftop join the wolves
in howling hauntedly
The children walking up the stairs
( the final thing I can recall )
and then I woke naked , freezing
somewhere on a country road.

Well I probably wouldn't have paid attention then but these lines
( the final thing I can recall )
and then I woke naked , freezing
somewhere on a country road.
Grabed a hold on my tickle bone and had me laughing out loud.
