Rise Up and Deliver

Contributed by Eireannach on Wednesday, 12th November 2008 @ 07:17:24 AM in AEST
Topic: ChristianPoetry

Rise Up and Deliver Lord

The painful night begins anew
Rise up and deliver LORD
In faith she reaches out to you
O rise up and deliver

You came to set the captive free
Rise up and deliver LORD
Restore the health that used to be
O rise up and deliver

In broken sobs she calls Your Name
Rise up and deliver LORD
To heal and take away her pain
O rise up and deliver

Her tears flow the whole night through
Rise up and deliver LORD
In sorrow she cries out to You
O rise up and deliver

Healing is from You alone
Rise up and deliver LORD
A promise from the scourging stone
O rise up and deliver

Heal her, yet until You do
Rise up and deliver LORD
Grant Your grace to see her through
O rise up and deliver

With that grace is sweet release
Rise up and deliver LORD
Give to her Your holy peace
O rise up and deliver

2005 O' Raithbheartaigh

I'm somewhat at a loss for what to say here, as it is about a life lived and given back and it's difficult to believe that no one else has commented on this amazing piece of work.

I commend you on your strength of faith to be able to write and post this, as well as the faith it shows in God. It is one of the hardest things to do...watch a loved one fail, perhaps the hardest test we can be given. In your words, I can tell that you know you wife is safely delivered into His hands, and it makes for strong prose. More, that you loved her deeply. I hope that He will continue to lift you up and I look forward to reading more of your work.

Be well,
Loende
