Behind this smile
My world's coming to an end
I bottle up my emotions,
Pretend everything is all right
Hide it all with this smile
I fool everyone with this smile
No one sees how much pain I'm in
I can't always hide it
Sometimes my smile fades away
My eyes give it away
People think they knew me
But, then they see this other side of me
So different
But, quickly i hide it again
How much longer can i do this?
How much can i hide behind this smile?
I'll keep pretending i'm okay
But really I'm not
I'll just hide myself from this world
All behind this smile

| ah yes, i think many children of today can relate to this, including me. a powerful reminder of how far young people go to hide their emotions from the outside world. great poem. |
